Forklift Certification

Forklifts keep freight moving in warehouses and yards across BC — from 45-gallon drums to rolls of carpet. They’re also involved in many preventable workplace injuries, often the result of operator error. This course is designed to help you operate safely, and to give your employer the certification record they need.

What you’ll learn

A full day of theory plus hands-on practical: 6 hours of operator certification training covering:

• ✓Operating instructions, warnings, and precautions for the specific forklift types you’ll use
• ✓Controls and instrumentation — what every gauge and indicator actually means
• ✓Engine operation and lift configurations
• ✓Steering and maneuvering, including how to manage restricted visibility when loaded
• ✓Fork and attachment selection, adaptation, operation, and use limits
• ✓Vehicle capacity (weight and load center) and stability, with and without a load
• ✓Daily pre-trip inspection and operator-level maintenance
• ✓Safe refuelling, battery charging, and recharging procedures
• ✓Operating limitations, hazard awareness, and type-specific precautions

Where you can take it

We offer the course in two formats:

• ✓At our facility using CSTT’s equipment
• ✓At your worksite on your equipment for larger groups

Both options meet the same certification standard and satisfy workplace safety requirements.

Cost and registration

• ✓Course fee: $280 for the full 6-hour certification
