Class 2 Licence

Drive bus — transit, school, charter, and tour coach. The licence for carrying passengers safely.

About This Course

If you like working with people and want a career that puts you on the road every day, bus driving is a solid option in BC. Transit, school bus, charter coach, tour coach — every route is different, and so is every shift.

The job — bigger than the steering wheel

A Class 2 licence opens up real employment in Victoria and across Vancouver Island. Transit and school bus driving let you sleep in your own bed every night. Coach captains and tour bus operators travel more, handle luggage and passengers, and sometimes live out of hotels between routes. Whichever path you choose, passenger safety is priority one — every loading, off-loading, and freight-handling decision flows from that.

What’s different about driving a bus

Buses handle differently because you’re seated ahead of the steer axles. That changes how you take turns, how you read your blind spots, and how the back of the unit tracks. You’ll learn all of that, plus:

  • Pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Passenger loading procedures
  • Handling emergency breakdowns
  • Moving a long unit confidently through city traffic

How we teach it

All training is one-on-one with an ICBC-licensed instructor — not a classroom of 20 or waiting your turn in the back seat. We don’t book your road test until you’re ready, and we’ll be honest with you about when that is.

Cost and registration

A deposit secures your spot. Most Class 2 buses require an air brake endorsement, which is a separate course (offered most weekends). Call 250-655-0432 for current pricing.
